Adventures in Bad Copy Vol 1

Today we are going to review an email from the survival and tactical niche. I get pretty passionate about this one, as you will see in the video.

My military mindset gets triggered almost immediately.

This one is a prime example of how not knowing your market will destroy your credibility.

Wait for 7:10 into the video if you want to see one of the worst things I've ever seen in an email (for ANY market).

What the author could have done better

  1. Provide an additional welcome email explaining why I'm hearing from a new person or re-write the first email.
  2. Introduce me to the product he is selling. Make me excited about what is coming instead of making excuses.
  3. Never tell me I bought your inferior product then ask me to buy the new one...
  4. Take some time researching the market even if you are a part of that market. The hours spend researching are never wasted.
