It's been a while since we talked about sales funnels.
I want to show you how to save a lot of money by avoiding a very common funnel mistake.
And to do that, I'm going to show you a couple of Facebook ads and the landing pages... and explain a very common mistake that is costing you sales.
So this is one ad that was in my feed.
I scrolled to the ad and clicked on some of them.
And I'm not really going to talk about copy.
I think this copy is not the greatest.
It's pretty vague.
I don't think the average person is really going to know what they're getting.
But I get the idea that it's some testing software.
And the first thing I want to tell you is that when you are creating a sales funnel, every step of that funnel should be congruent with the style, tone, writing, look, logos, and colors.
When I click on that ad, it should be a seamless transition from the ad to the landing page, much like copywriting.
There should be no friction for me. There should be nothing that makes me think. It should be a smooth experience.
So I clicked on this ad, and it took me to this landing page.
And the very first bold headline is, "why should I move my site to CBS Split?"
There was nothing in that ad that told me I was going to have to move my website.
And there's really nothing here that makes me think this is some split test software.
Not only that, this is like a term of service page... and they're expecting me to do the work and read through this and figure out what it's all about.
So as you can imagine, that's going to insert a lot of friction into the process.
They do stick with the colors and logo.
But other than that, I mean, there's really no flow, no consistent style, and there's a lot of confusion in the copy.
And the next one I want to talk about here is this one website called PLR Me.
They're running this ad.
I happen to know what PLR means, but even if you didn't, I love how they lead off with a pain point they're going to solve.
They're going to give me something free, and they've got a large variety.
They also had a video explaining what they do for those who don't know what it's all about.
And you can see their logo, and even the colors they're using all feel the same as the ad.
And it's very congruent.
It's a very seamless transition.
This is what I'm expecting to see.
I don't have to think about it.
Not only is it what I'm expecting to see... the same logo... the same colors... the same feel. They're immediately reminding me, yes, I'm here for this download these free downloads.
It's important to maintain this kind of consistency through your entire funnel.
So your takeaways today is your funnel must be a greased chute, just like your copy.
Your customer should flow from one step to the next with as little friction as possible and make sure each step of the funnel is congruity and look feel tone and style.
And here is your super-secret tip for the day.
Many problems can be fixed before you waste your time and money.
Build that and build that funnel and get people to go through it.
Every step of the way, test every piece of the funnel. Have them tell you all the thoughts that come up, even the smallest ones. Especially have them tell you where they felt they had to do extra work... or they started thinking a little too much.
And that's it for this week's copy conversation.
If you would like me to look through your sales funnel.
I'd be more than happy to do that. If that sounds like something you would be interested in, click here and let me know.
