In the next couple of minutes, I'm going to show you how to get inside your market's head and figure out exactly the words they're using to talk about their pain without actually having to speak to anyone.
And when you know the market's pains, you can write sales copy that speaks directly to your market's deepest desires.
Now, sometimes you don't have a lot of to work with.
Maybe it's a new product or new market.
Maybe you don't have many testimonials or haven't done any interviews with your potential customers.
So one of the fastest ways I found to get into the heads of potential customers is Reddit.
If there's a problem out there, there's probably a sub credit for it.
And the great thing about Reddit is people will get on there and they'll be very honest.
They'll use their own words and be very honest about their pains.
For example, I was writing copy for a sleep supplement, and I've never had a problem sleeping.
No matter what. I can usually fall asleep.
And I found this sub-Reddit for people who have insomnia, and it was packed with people being very honest about their pains.
And I just want to show you some examples of some subject line.
So please keep in mind these are just the subject lines, not the actual post.
"I hate this defective body of mine."
"How to support a partner with insomnia?" ... That would be a great email.
"I've had maybe eight hours of sleep in five days, and it's not working. Does anyone have any ideas?"
"No sleep medications work, and I'm feeling hopeless."
"I hate waking up every few hours."
"I haven't crashed in months."
"I'm so angry, guys."
"I'm going mad."
And the last one was, "I want to die."
So if I had just jumped in the writing copy without really understanding that market, I think it's very safe to say that I would have missed the mark or not have been as sympathetic as I should have been.
Especially as someone who's never suffered from sleep problems.
So if you want a quick way to dive deep into your market's pain without having to talk to a soul, then Reddit is the place you need to add to your research checklist.
