Researching your competition is one of the fastest ways to boost your sales.
Why?
Because you can see what is working for them right now...
... and you can also find their weaknesses and make your sales copy better.
Now I gotta be clear on this... I'm not advocating plagiarism or stealing your competition's copy.
It's illegal, and their copy will not work on your customers.
BUT there are many things you can take away from the competition ads you CAN use to make yours stronger.
This week's video shows you how to pull the gold from their ads and use it to make yours stronger.
Check it out below...

This week, we're going to jump back into a topic that's near and dear to my heart research.
The truth about writing copy is 70 percent of it happens in the research phase.
That's why if you're going to hire a copywriter, a good question to ask is, "tell me about your research process."
If that copywriter can't answer that or blows it off, then you might want to do a little bit more digging.
One of the tools I use for doing customer research is the Facebook ad library.
You can find that at Facebook dot com slash ads, slash library, or you can do a Google search or Facebook ad library.
It'll come right up.
And anybody can use this to see what ads people are running.
This is a screen here that you'll see when you get to make sure is you select the category you want.
I don't know why election and politics are the default, but you want to hit search.
Let's say you are a supplement company, and you want to see what's working right now for other supplement companies.
They've already used their money to research the market, so why not take a peek at what they're doing?
What I'm going to do is I'm going to search for a high-end supplement company called Truvani.
So I type Truvani into the search.
I made sure I was searching all ads, and this is what came up.
So Truvani is running a lot of ads over time.
What that tells me is they're doing well with Facebook ads.
Another thing that tells me they're doing well is how many they're running here currently active.
I'm not going to focus on the copy so much, but I want you to see just quick takeaways.
If you've got a supplement company and you're not running Facebook ads, and Triveni seems to be killing it with Facebook ads, that something you might want to do?
Another thing I look at as I scroll to the bottom and I find their oldest running ads.
OK, here's one that was launched in April of 2020.
So, you know, it's working if they're still putting money into running this ad.
What I can learn from this is a couple of different things.
I can see what kind of copy they're using.
You see, this is very short, and I think this is a very powerful picture.
It's showing, hey, look how convenient this is.
This product fits right into your glove compartment.
And down here, you know, you get the delicious organic, plant-based protein there, a higher-end, very organic quality ingredient company.
So that probably resonates well with their audience.
Another thing I noticed as I go through here are the images.
The images are very well done.
They show an excellent representation of the product.
It looks like if you look back at the last two weeks of the Copy Conversation videos, I talk a lot about being congruent. As you can see, they're very congruent with their images and their color scheme.
They're sticking with their branding very well.
And I know if I click through to these products, there's going to be no surprises.
When I plan on their landing page, the same color schemes will be very much the same feel.
It's a seamless transition from the ad to the product page.
Another thing that seems to be working with them is videos of their customers using the product.
So the Facebook ads library is just one of the many tools you can use to check and see what's working for your competition.
And there's a good chance that whatever is working for them, elements of that will work for you.
I do not recommend copying word for word or swiping these things directly because everyone's market is different.
Everyone's attracted their customers to their business in different ways and have different personalities.
I can take away from this.
I'm running a supplement company, and I need these lovely images. These images show the product and use these images to my brand and photos and videos of my customers using the product.
Do you have any questions about how to research your competition or make your current sales message stronger?
