A long time ago, I ran a little online marketing biz.
I'm going to give you one of the best lessons I ever learned back then about getting into your markets head and learning the exact word they use to describe their pains.
Plus many times they will tell you the exact products they want to buy from you.
It's not sexy...
It's not easy...
But it works!
So gather around the campfire, and I'm going to tell you the tale.
At the time, I was running Facebook ads to Clickfunnels sales pages.
I noticed one morning that someone in New Jersey ordered 5 of the same t-shirts.
My first thought was it was an accident. My second thought was "OMG I'm going to have to call this guy"...
I grabbed my phone in my shaking hand (while I prayed he didn't answer the phone) and dialed the number.
He answered with a happy hello, and I introduced myself.
It turned out he loved the shirts. He ordered one for himself and all of his buddies.
We talked for 40-minutes about why he loved the shirt... issues that people in this market cared deeply about... and things he would love to see (and buy) in the future.
It was market research in its best form.
Every mentor told me to call my customers and interview them. But it was scary, and I didn't want to pick up that phone.
But that day, I learned that going directly to my market was the most powerful way to not only create perfect offers my customers loved... but write the copy in a way that sang in their ears.
No, it's not an easy hack.
But when you do it, you'll learn more than you ever could in a forum... Facebook group... or even my favorite, Reddit.
Try out talking to your customers... it might just 10X your business.
